Melwood Seeking Lead Equestrian Instructor in Nanjemoy, MD

Lead Equestrian Instructor works collaboratively with the Program Director, Equestrian and Experiential Learning to facilitate the day-to-day operations of Melwood’s inclusive equestrian program. The incumbent is responsible for organizing and facilitating year round general horsemanship, inclusive riding lessons, as well as other equine assisted activities for children, adolescents, and adults, including those with differing abilities. Using the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) model, the Lead Equestrian Coordinator is also responsible for to-facilitating equine assisted learning activities.

Professional Experience / Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in equestrian programming required.
Must be a PATH certified therapeutic riding instructor. EAGALA certification is also highly desired. If not EAGALA certified, must be willing to gain certification within one-year of hire.

Must be able to work a varied schedule to include nights, weekends, and some holidays.
