Executive Director Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, Inc. - SC 

Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, Inc. (CATR), located just south of Charleston, South Carolina on Johns Island, is seeking an Executive Director to assume duties as of June 2020. This is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Board of Directors and overseeing a staff of up to eighteen full and part-time employees for both CATR’s therapeutic riding program, and traditional riding lessons and boarding services offered by CATR’s home base, Brickhouse Equestrian Center (BEC). The Executive Director is a key participant in CATR’s fundraising and donor development.

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills as well as a working knowledge of non-profit governance and accounting practices. The candidate must have a strong equestrian background; PATH Intl. instructor certification is preferred, but not required. Specific responsibilities may include:

  • staff management and development;

  • oversight of equine health and training programs;

ABOUT CATR AND BEC

CATR is a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center celebrating its 28th year of operation. Eight certified instructors work with more than 140 students in a variety of programs, including interactive vaulting. In addition, CATR hosts several PATH Intl., AHA and other educational workshops each year.

Brickhouse Equestrian Center is a 42-acre property with six large pastures, three barns, two grass rings and a 48,000 sq. ft covered arena, all utilized by both CATR and BEC programs.
