PATH International Equine Services for Heroes Scholarships

PATH Intl. is proud to offer two scholarship opportunities for veterans of U.S. military service in order to promote their continued growth and to give back to them for their service.
The PATH International Equine Services for Heroes Conference Scholarship for Veterans will award one conference registration (worth $550) to the 2014 PATH Intl. Conference, to a PATH Intl. member with an honorable discharge from U.S. military service. PATH Intl. conferences are rich with educational content, professional development and networking opportunities. The conference is in San Diego, CA, October 29-November 1. A special track is devoted to the PATH International Equine Services for Heroes group during Community Connections Day. Dr. James Spira, director of the National Center for PTSD, will be the keynote speaker for Community Connections Day. If the scholarship recipient wishes to attend Community Connections Day as part of the conference, the additional fee will be paid by PATH Intl. Click here for the conference scholarship application. For those interested in a gratifying career with daily opportunities to change lives as a therapeutic riding instructor, PATH Intl. introduces the PATH International Equine Services for Heroes Therapeutic Riding Instructor Certification Scholarship for Veterans. This scholarship will reimburse the cost of pursuing PATH Intl. Therapeutic Riding Instructor Certification ($800) and will be awarded to veterans with an honorable discharge from U.S. military service. Applicants must also possess skills in the areas of equine management, horsemanship, instruction, teaching methodology and knowledge of disabilities. In addition, applicants must successfully meet the criteria to become a PATH Intl. Instructor-in-Training and have completed at least 10 hours volunteering at a PATH Intl. center. The deadline for the application is December 31, 2014; the scholarship will be reimbursed to the individual who successfully completes a registered instructor onsite workshop and certification between January 1 and December 31, 2015.
