Hello All,

We have a few announcements and general updates (mostly “borrowed” from Facebook).  Remember if you have any special information that you would like to share, please don’t hesitate to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

MARK YOUR CALENDARS  The 2014 Region 3 Conference will be in our own backyard this year. April 2-4, 2014.  Erica Janes and the ladies at On Eagles’ Wings are doing all the hard work and hosting the conference for WV. Thank you ladies, for all that you are doing!! Details on conference location and schedule will be announced when they are available.

FACEBOOK UPDATES  It seems that most of us are back in full swing, the TR sessions scheduled or in progress. I love looking at the Facebook postings for the WV centers.  Facebook seems to be a great way to stay in contact and up-to-date with everyone.  Here are just a few of the latest posts…

Beyond Wishes Therapeutic Riding Program, Inc.

Have had a great 3 days of lessons this week. Gave 100% of scheduled lessons. Not sure about Sunday depends on weather tonight and tomorrow. Thanks to all volunteers who came out and helped. Also did some more training with our Equine staff, pictures to follow. Also busy doing some prep for our 3rd Annual Open House which is May 5th Sunday, from 1-5pm. Be sure and check out the events section for more information. Spread the word and hope to see lots of people, should be a great day.

Horses with Hearts

There is nothing I dislike more than change! However, it seems to be a necessary thing in life. Time for a new normal. This time for Horses with Hearts. We have moved to Homestead Farm on Thatcher Rd. We would like to take this time to say thanks to Larry and Vickie Carper and the boarders of Pleasant Ridge Farm for putting up with us for 7 years. A very special thanks to Big K's for supplying the roll back, Jamie, Ryan and their friends with the pickups, trailers and extra hands, the HwH volunteers. It would not have happened so easily without each of you. Thanks from the bottom of Cathy's and my hearts! Horses went on Friday, Everything else on Sat. It was amazing. We are almost completely set up and ready for Tuesday. Our #1 goal was to move without interruption in lessons and it looks like we will have done it. Praise be to GOD!

PATH International

We're all groomed and ready to go on this sunny Monday morning!

Eli-Joan-and-PebblesWe aren’t on Facebook but Eli (the cowboy), Joan (the PT) and Pebbles (the haffy) had a wonderful first session today.  Looks like we will be back on track with the warmer days, also.

ANIMAL DONATION ANNOUNCEMENT

donkey1Lovable Donkey needs a new place to call his own…

Zack, the donkey, is 15 yrs old, about 13 HHH and has so much patience it's unreal. He loves his ears scratched and his nosed kissed, will stand for hours for love. He is broke to ride but is a corner lover, but you can lead him anywhere. He hates crossing water; I think that is his only fault. He needs a place where he will get love and be taken care of. Owner can deliver if it’s not too far. Thanks

Hello Path WV Centers and Members:

I hope that your New Year has started out wonderfully.  Joan and I are currently on winter break, so Pebbles thinks she is on a major holiday….horses – you gotta love them.

CHECK OUT FACEBOOK

Many of our WV Centers have Facebook pages.  This is a wonderful way to keep up with everyone. Here is a list of the pages that I know of, with their most recent updates (hopefully – sorry if I made any mistakes copying and pasting from Facebook). If anyone would like to share more information, I will be happy to send it around.

Beyond Wishes Therapeutic Riding Program, Inc.
Beyond Wishes TRP wants to welcome two new equine staff members, Stretch a 20 y/o gray Wakaloosa and Ginger a 15 y/o chestnut quarter horse. They both are super quiet and will be part of our program starting April 1st. Patches will be leaving for his new home this spring to do what he enjoys most, trail riding. Acorn will come to visit but officially has retired as of last Nov. This leaves us with seven program horses. See photos of new horses to follow.

Horses with Hearts
Good Morning and Happy New Year to all of you. Just wanted to thank everyone for all of the love and support during 2012. God has been good. We had an amazing year and that is because of each of you. We are looking forward to all God is going to do in 2013. I promise to do my best to do a better job and keeping all of you informed. Again Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.

On Eagles' Wings Therapeutic Horsemanship
We would like everyone that is associated with On Eagles' Wings to come out and support Operation Jacob on Sunday, October 21st in Morgantown. Jacob Allen is one of our longtime riders in the program, and was lost for four days in the Dolly Sods Wilderness, a remote area of WV, from Oct. 14th-18th in 2007. This event is to celebrate his return five years ago, and to support Project Lifesaver, an organization that provides tracking devices for children and adults with cognitive difficulties. Click on the link below to register for this 2K Walk/5K Run. See you there!

I really hope that everyone has a great 2013!!! Please stay in contact and remember if you need anything shared with other PATHees in WV, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

CENTER RENEWAL UPDATE

Our West Virginia Centers should be very proud!! Nancy sent around a call list to the State Reps.  On this list, were all of the “centers in Region 3 that have not renewed as of this afternoon” (January 8th).  The wonderful news is that there weren’t any WV Centers!!! So please give yourselves a pat on the back for making my job even easier. (If any centers have renewal questions – “Karen Province is available for questions centers may have by phone or email, 800-369-7433 ext. 111 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .  She has been doing an incredible job getting back to centers but because of the high volume of calls it can take a day or two.” NOTE: This information was provided by Carrie Garnett, Membership Operations Manager, This email address is being protected from spambots. EMAIL UPDATE FROM NANCY PICKERING – REGION 3 REP AND CONFERENCE INFORMATION!!

Nancy wanted to remind you that the Region 3 Conference early registration doesn't last long!  Please bring photos for the contest and silent auction items. The State meetings are planned for March 1st.  I won’t be able to attend the conference this year.  If any would be willing to take on the role of WV State Rep, for this conference, that would be fabulous. (I won’t commit you to job for life – unless you volunteer) I will talk to Nancy about transferring the State Rep’s conference code to the luck volunteer…no promises so you may be volunteering for a position with no real benefits, aside from being loved by all!  Please contact me if you are interested.  The volunteer position will be first come first serve, so please This email address is being protected from spambots.
